Castine is a charming Maine town, located on a peninsula
in Penobscot Bay. Rich with history, you can trace the 100 historic markers
throughout the town of Castine – which is on the National Historic Register.
Castine was a strategic hold for the British in 1779, you can visit
including two forts Fort George and Fort Madison plus nearby Fort Pentageot.
The Maine Maritime Academy campus is in Castine, where sailors train for the
US Merchant Marine.
Castine is now home to a summer theatre, museum, gift shops and several
