Your Guide to Motels in York Beach Maine

The Perfect Family Beachfront Vacation

York Beach is an ideal Maine vacation spot for beach walks, kite flying, playing in the sand, visiting the famous Nubble Light and enjoying the seaside attractions like Goldenrod salt water taffy shop, York’s Wild Kingdom and so much more.

One of the best ways for a family to enjoy York Beach is to stay at a beachfront motel just steps from Long Sands Beach or nearby Short Sands Beach.

There are several well-located affordable motels right along York’s Beaches and Coastal Route 1A. Many of these York motels offer sea views, balconies or patios overlooking the beach and the ocean, perfect for a weekend, a weeklong stay or just an overnight escape to the beach in any season.

Motels along Long Sands Beach often include a kitchenette and jacuzzi tub to make your vacation even more comfortable and affordable. With convenient parking right outside your motel room, you can leave your car and walk to the beach and to some great seafood restaurants serving fresh Maine lobster.

After a day at the beach or exploring the Southern Maine coast you can return to your motel lodging and refresh with a swim in the pool or a drink on your patio. Most motels now offer free WiFi and many provide in room coffee makers, mini-fridge and A/C, although we recommend the fresh ocean breeze in summer.

Staying in a motel along York Beach, you can wake to watch the sunrise on the Maine coast or sleep in to the sound of the waves brushing the sand. Days are filled with fun adventure, building sand castles, strolling the beach or biking out to Nubble Lighthouse.

In the evening, York has many great restaurants from causal clam shacks to fine dining – seafood with a sea view even. York Beach has nightlife in the prime summer months with live music at a few of the Inns and clubs near Short Sands and in York Beach village.

Or you can walk the beach in the evening enjoying the starry night with your toes in the soft sand – that’s true Maine nightlife.

The cost for motels on York Beach varies based on whether you have an ocean view room or not. Also the size of the motel room, a standard room with two queen beds versus a suite with kitchen, affects to the price for York Beach motel lodging.

The bigger the room and the better the scenery – the higher the price – but still motels are typically a deal compared to staying at oceanfront resort or hotel. You will have money left for that lobster feast and shopping at nearby Kittery Outlets.

Prices range also based upon the time of year you visit York Beach. Spring, winter and fall are quieter seasons here with great deals on a oceanfront motel lodging; while peak summer is more expensive, the sun, swimming and tan are well worth it.
