Lincoln is famous first and foremost for its 13 lakes. This beautiful part of Maine sits on the banks of the Penobscot River, and is a day trip away from some of Maine's best attractions, Baxter State Park and Acadia National Park in Bar Harbor. Lincoln is known for its water powered sawmills and paper industry, but there is much natural beauty in the area including Mattanawcook Lake right in town. Staying in Lincoln at a cozy inn, lodge, or camp, you will find Maine hospitability and a host of outdoor activities to explore on the many lakes and rivers.
Lincoln is just off Interstate 95, U.S. Route 2 and Route 6, which continue on to the Canadian border. Lincoln even has its own airport and a seaplane dock located right in the downtown on Mattanawcook Lake.
